I believe a garden is never just a collection of plants. It is a reflection of the person that grows it. After more than thirty years observing gardens and gardeners, my work is to help you understand your own garden, trust your instincts and create a place that feels deeply yours.

For more than thirty years I've helped create some of Britain's best-loved gardening programmes, including over 25 series of Gardeners' World. During that time I've visited hundreds of gardens and met remarkable gardeners.
They taught me something I never expected.
The most beautiful gardens are not the most perfect.
They are the most loved. And they belong completely to the people who made them.
I can't promise you a perfect garden.
But I can help you create one you'll love for the rest of your life.
Stories, Seasonal Plants and Simple Tasks
Through stories, plants, and monthly tasks, this book guides you through the gardening year and invites you to slow down, notice more and create a garden that grows with you.
A morning in your garden, or a focused couple of hours on Zoom — time to properly understand your space and how I can help.
How it works:
This session is about seeing your garden clearly and giving you direction — a walk-through, honest observations, and a clear sense of priorities.
If you'd like me to put together anything further afterwards, such as a detailed plant list or planting plan, that's available as an additional service.
Gardening guidance, monthly tasks to do in your own garden, my plant of the month and tips for growing success plus garden stories.
